The Sony SDX3-100C is an AIT-3
(Advanced Intelligent Tape) Data Tape Cartridge. The uncompressed capacity is
100GB and the compressed capacity is 260GB. The data transfer rate for the Sony
SDX3-100C is 12 MB/s (native) and a 31 MB/s (compressed). The AME (Advanced
Metal Evaporated) feature of the Sony AIT-3 SDX3-100C tape allows it to last
longer and be far more reliable than common metal particle tapes. The SDX3-100C
AIT-3 also features
a 64K R-MIC (Remote – Memory In Cassette), R-MIC can help users to access key
media volume parameters that are supported by End User application software.
