Sony AIT4 offers a fast data transfer rate of 24MB/s (native). The Sony AIT4 SDX4-200C tape media also has a 16KB memory chip and stores 200GB uncompressed and 520GB with compressed of native data. AIT4 SDX4-200C tape has 100GB native capacity and compatible with all AIT tape drives. AIT-4 8mm Sony SDX4-200C tape cartridge features both an MIC chip (a built-in flash memory chip that stores directory and operational information) and a pure metal magnetic layer designed for maximum capacity and longevity (this is the AME II tape formulation that was developed for use in the AIT-4 tape).
